Playstation VR 2: Sony shows VR games again
Sony is holding a State of Play today and could announce a new VR game or two for Playstation VR 2.
The occasion of the State of Play is the Tokyo Games Show 2022, which will take place from September 15 to 18. "For tomorrow’s show, we’ll have some great updates from our amazing Japanese partners, along with a few other surprises from developers all around the world," Sony writes on the Playstation Blog.
Viewers can expect about 20 minutes of reveals, news, and new gameplay footage for ten games coming to PS5, PS4, and PSVR 2, it says.
Sony still has many VR games to showcase
According to Sony, there are currently more than 20 VR games in development for Playstation VR 2. So far, Sony has announced the following four titles and one VR experience:
- Resident Evil Village
- Horizon Call of the Mountain
- The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution
- No Man's Sky
- An unspecified VR content for the Resident Evil 4 remake.
So there is plenty of room for improvement in terms of game announcements. Playstation VR 2 will be released in early 2023, which means the launch is already within reach.
Playstation VR 2: Playable at the TGS 2022
At the Tokyo Game Show, Playstation VR 2 will be playable for the first time. So we can look forward to the first reports. Capcom will exhibit the VR version of Resident Evil Village and visitors can experience a part of Dimitrescu Castle in the demo.
There are also rumors that Hideo Kojima will present a virtual reality experience. The legendary game developer spoke of an "unusual" project that has surprises in store and plays differently than anything that has come before. Kojima's studio will have a booth at the virtual reality version of the Tokyo Games Show.
Sony's State of Play kicks off on Tuesday, September 13 at 5:59 pm (Eastern Time). You can follow the show on Twitch and Youtube.
