INTO MIXED REALITY

MIXED is the leading online magazine covering Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality and other technologies shaping our future.

We started in 2015 as a small German-language VR blog. Now we have many authors and readers from all over the world who are interested in the future of computing. When man and machine converge and the analog merges with the digital, we get curious. What does the post-smartphone age look like? What comes after the PC? New human-machine interfaces such as virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence illustrate how humans will interact with computers in the future – or vice versa.

Our readers are future-oriented technology enthusiasts who have a positive attitude toward new technologies and are open to critical discourse about advantages and disadvantages.

Who owns MIXED?

Chris is especially interested in the intersection of hardware, software, design, and culture, including whether people will actually wear these devices in public. He covers product launches, industry strategy, developer platforms, celebrity-backed tech campaigns, and the broader race to make smart glasses the next major computing platform.

James has been fascinated by immersive technology since long before “the metaverse” became a buzzword. He backed the original Oculus DK1 Kickstarter and has been following the evolution of consumer VR ever since, while his interest in 3D technology stretches back even further to the days of NVIDIA 3D Vision and early stereoscopic gaming. More broadly, he’s been tinkering with computers since the 1980s, starting with the Amstrad home computer era. James writes reviews and features covering VR, AR, smart home, and consumer technology. His work has appeared in BGR, MakeUseOf, and MatterAlpha, where he combines hands-on testing with a healthy dose of real-world skepticism to help readers separate genuinely useful technology from marketing hype.

He follows new releases, co-op games, community mods and the updates that change what a headset can do. His stories keep the practical questions close: which headsets are supported, whether friends can play together, what a game costs and when it will be available. From small experimental projects to familiar games finding their way into VR, Michael covers the software that gives people a reason to put a headset on.
