MIXED Previews & Reviews

Titanic VR on Quest 3: An Atmospheric Dive to a Legendary Wreck

Titanic VR is making its standalone headset debut with an impressively immersive experience on Meta Quest 3. The app features two distinct modes: free exploration, which lets you traverse both the bow and stern areas, and a story mode where you step into the shoes of a deep-sea explorer investigating the wreck. The underwater controls are intuitive, pulling you right into the 3,800-meter-deep world beneath the waves. There’s a real goosebumps moment when the bow of the Titanic looms out of the darkness for the first time.

Exploring the interior and recovering artifacts is handled via a remote-controlled underwater robot. While the Quest version doesn’t quite reach the graphical fidelity of its PC VR counterpart, it still impresses with realistic lighting and dynamic shadows. After each dive, you’ll head to the lab to clean and examine your recovered finds.

Even though the game is still in Early Access, the Quest version is technically polished. A major update is slated for later this year, adding a 1912 scenario where you’ll relive the Titanic’s sinking from the perspective of lifeboat 6.

Titanic VR is available now for $15 in the Horizon Store and supports Meta Quest 3 and 3S.

DLCs & Updates

Synth Riders' Challenges+ Update Brings Invisible Notes and Alien Invaders

Kluge Interactive just rolled out a free update for their VR rhythm game Synth Riders, delivering a fresh twist on the asynchronous Challenges mode. The new Challenges+ update brings over the chaotic power-ups previously reserved for multiplayer, so now you’ll be dodging alien ships, grappling with speed boosts, and smacking notes that randomly shift size and color—all while flying solo.

Looking for an even bigger test? Some challenges now make the notes completely invisible. It’s a wild way to keep even seasoned Synth Riders fans on their toes.

The update is available now on Meta Quest, SteamVR, and PlayStation VR2.

Demeo Gets a Technical Overhaul: Better Graphics, Faster Loads

Resolution Games has released a major engine update for their tabletop RPG Demeo, upgrading the game to Unity’s Universal Render Pipeline (URP). This move brings crisper visuals and enables Eye-Tracked Foveated Rendering (ETFR) on supported hardware like Apple Vision Pro and Quest Pro. The lighting system has also been swapped out for Unity 6’s, making for richer color gradients throughout the game’s environments.

Under the hood, the loading system has been reworked so Demeo requires less memory, loads faster, and generally runs smoother. According to Resolution Games, the team spent ten months developing this update, which should also make it easier to roll out new content in the future. Alongside the technical overhaul, players will notice new ranks and a higher XP cap, now bumped from 75 to 90.

Underworld Overseer Adds "New World" Content with Hardcore Survival

Underworld Overseer just got a free content update that expands the game with five new levels. The “New World” update introduces a brand-new island, its own hardcore variants, and a dedicated survival mode where you’ll need to last a full hour against every enemy type the game can throw at you.

This update also shakes up the roster of adversaries, adding five new enemy types—Treasure Hunter, Blaster, Shieldbearer, Carpenter, and Priestess—each with their own unique abilities.

Resist Hits PlayStation VR2 with 120Hz Support for PS5 Pro

Resist has launched its first update for PlayStation VR2, making 120Hz the default mode for PS5 Pro users. The patch also tackles some nagging issues: social screen tearing has been addressed, the infamous bug where players could fall through the game world at the end of a run has been fixed, and crashes during language selection should be a thing of the past.

Trombone Champ: Unflattened Adds "Get A Grip!" Update with Recording and New Trombones

Trombone Champ: Unflattened is turning up the volume with its "Get A Grip!" update. The highlight here is a new recording feature—you can now save and share your best performances, even after finishing a song. The update also debuts a new cosmetic category: gloves. Play as a trombone-wielding baboon, chicken, or hotdog, and accessorize with themed gloves like “Primate Paws,” “Cluck Covers,” or “Glizzy Grabbers.”

That’s not all—new unlockable trombones are in the mix, including the cow-inspired “Moo-sic Maker,” the pig-themed “Oink Ensemble,” the floral “Sounds O’ Spring,” and the “Tootcan,” which comes adorned with a life-size toucan. The update is now available for Meta Quest.
