Sales of Playstation 5 pass the 40 million unit mark
Sony has reason to celebrate. The Playstation 5 has sold more than 40 million units worldwide since its launch in November 2020 through July 16, 2023. Despite initial supply shortages due to the COVID 19 pandemic, Sony says it now has sufficient inventory. The PS4 reached this mark a few weeks earlier. More than 2,500 games have been released for the PS5. The store currently lists 90 VR games for the console's PSVR 2 headset (600,000 units sold by May 2023).

Apple Vision Pro: Developer kit applications now open
Developers can now apply for an Apple Vision Pro developer kit. To receive a headset and support, applicants must be registered with the Apple Developer Program, provide proof of their skills and their portfolio. According to Apple, new ideas will have an advantage in the loan program, with priority given to apps that creatively use the mixed reality capabilities of the new visionOS. Developer tools for Apple Vision Pro have been available since June. Unity has also launched its Spatial Experiences beta program.
