A Japanese radio filing shows an unannounced Pico headset, model B3110, inside and out

An unannounced headset carrying the trade name PICO has cleared Japanese radio certification, and the filing includes both external and internal photographs of it. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications database lists construction design certification 202-JWM032, certified on 12 August 2026, for a device named B3110.

The test report behind it is specific about what the device is. LabSure Testing Services (Suzhou) issued report LS-Q26022803-24F01 on 15 July 2026, giving the trade name as PICO, the equipment under test as a "Mixed Reality Computer" and the model number as B3110. The applicant and manufacturer is Qingdao Chuangjian Weilai Technology Co., Ltd of Laoshan District, Qingdao, and the registered conformity assessment body is CTC/cetecom advanced GmbH.

What the photographs show

The Japanese file carries six external photographs of the device and more than a dozen internal ones. The external pictures show a compact visor-style headset: a hard front shell with a glossy visor band, a padded fabric forehead pad, a thin fabric top strap and a ribbed rear cradle, with a braided cable running out of the left side to a connector lying loose beside it. The visor's inner face carries a grey contoured light seal.

The device is photographed against blue cloth beside two steel rulers, and its body lies across roughly the 200mm mark. The photographs themselves are embedded in the certification PDFs and cannot be reproduced here.

What the certification actually covers is one band. The Japanese certificate is for emission designation F1D from 2402 to 2480 MHz, 40 channels at 2 MHz spacing, at 0.007 W, and the report notes that the RF module runs from DC 5V. Antenna power, tolerances, frequency tolerance and occupied bandwidth are all recorded as PASS. The sample was received on 20 March 2026 and tested between 20 March and 14 July.

The US grant points at ByteDance

The same applicant holds FCC ID 2A5NV-AA1Z0, with grantee code 2A5NV and product code AA1Z0. The FCC record gives bytedance.com as a related domain and the equipment class as "Mixed Reality Computer", with testing by Sporton International in Kunshan over the same 2402 to 2480 MHz range and a final action dated 1 September 2026. The exhibits include a label and location file, an antenna report, a DTS test report and a request for long-term confidentiality. Pico is ByteDance's headset brand.

A device in a radio filing can change before it launches, or never launch at all, and both of these certificates cover radio emissions rather than panels, silicon or price. What they do establish is that a ByteDance subsidiary has put a mixed-reality headset through two national radio regimes under the Pico name this year.

Pico's existing hardware has been quietly gaining ground: Pico 4 reached an 18-month high in Steam's September hardware survey. Certification databases have turned up several unannounced XR devices this autumn, from an unannounced Xreal computing kit with Wi-Fi 6E to two Samsung devices described as smart glasses, whose photographs are sealed until 2027.

Both filings are weeks old: the Japanese certificate is dated 12 August, the FCC's final action 1 September. In both of them the device is called one thing, and it is B3110.
