Future Games Show plans summer spotlight for VR games
E3 is cancelled in 2023, but the Future Games Show casts a "VR Spotlight" on PSVR 2 and Quest 2.
Besides Sony and Meta, Gamesradar is also hosting an event around new games. As part of the "Future Games Show Summer Showcase" on June 10, 2023, there will be a separate VR spotlight that is all about future releases for Quest 2 and Playstation VR 2.
The organizers announced a "mix of world premieres and new videos for PSVR 2, Meta Quest 2 and more". Among them could be the PSVR 2 remake of the old Dreamcast sports game C-Smash. As part of the announcement, organizers posted a retweet about C-Smash VRS.
PSVR 2 and Quest 2 in the spotlight
The date is no coincidence, but falls on the traditional opening weekend of the now canceled game show E3 2023. However, the trade show cancellation should not affect the streaming event of the Future Games Show. It is still unclear how many of the 40 planned trailers will be covering titles for VR headsets.

This is already the second VR segment of this kind. At the "Future Games Show Spring Showcase" in March 2023, the puzzle game Another Fisherman's Tale and the family-friendly stealth horror game Hello Neighbor VR: Search and Rescue were among the presented games. Blair Renaud's cyberpunk sim Lo-Fi also made an appearance. It has been in development since a Kickstarter campaign in 2019.
Sony didn't show too many PSVR 2 games at its Playstation Showcase on May 24. Besides the announcement of the zombie shooter Arizona Sunshine 2, there was news about the planned VR mode in Resident Evil 4. Meta has the chance to finally showcase big VR games at its Meta Quest Gaming Showcase on June 1. Apple could be planning to unveil a VR headset on June 5.
