Spin-off to VR hit Moss gets improvements and new champion
Polyarc is celebrating the launch of the Glassbreakers free open beta on Quest 2 with the introduction of a new champion named MJ22 (also known as Mojo). In addition, player capacity will be increased, a Quest for the Chest in-game event and overtime rule changes will be added. PC VR players will also soon be able to participate in PvP VR battles. An open beta for SteamVR is planned for next month.
Zombie shooter Drop Dead is getting mixed reality mode on Quest 3
Developer studio Soul Assembly will introduce a new mixed reality mode called “Home Invasion” for the VR game Drop Dead: The Cabin. A video (see link in source) shows how the entire play area of a home environment is transformed into an XR shooting gallery, with zombies breaking in through virtual windows and doors. While the gameplay was recorded using a Quest Pro, the mode is said to be primarily designed for the Meta Quest 3 version of the game. A video of the Quest 3 pass-through quality was recently leaked. Drop Dead: The Cabin – Home Invasion will be released in October as a free update for the main game.
Mysterious VR game based on handcrafted clay models announced
MoonHood, a new studio from the creators of Lost in Random, has announced a partnership with Fast Travel Games to develop a handcrafted video game for consoles, PC and virtual reality. Players will dive deep into alien worlds and experience a mysterious story. The characters in the game world will be handcrafted from real materials such as clay and 3D scanned into the game. Not many details are available yet. But you can get a first impression in the announcement trailer linked below. The studio also plans to share more news via social media.
VR Tennis Racket Club to be released in December for Meta Quest
In a developer diary, Resolution Games reveal the social VR aspects and mechanics of its upcoming VR tennis game, Racket Club. The VR game, scheduled for release in December 2023 for Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, and SteamVR, will allow players to move around as if they were in a real tennis club. In the VR environment, players will be able to explore courts, spectator areas, and interact with other players. The launch of the game will be accompanied by a discounted pre-sale on the Quest Store.
