PSVR 2: Beat the Beats aims to challenge Beat Saber for the VR rhythm throne

Beat the Beats VR, a new rhythm game for Playstation VR 2 that combines boxing and music, will be released on February 27th. You use boxing techniques such as jab, block and uppercut, dodge or duck to driving beats. The principle is similar to Beat Saber, FitXR or Les Mills Bodycombat. However, the gameplay of Beat the Beats differs in the way you have to execute the punches: The punches don't come straight at you, but in arcs from different directions. This should result in more realistic movements, similar to a real boxing match.

Sales of Playstation 5 pass the 40 million unit mark

Sony has reason to celebrate. The Playstation 5 has sold more than 40 million units worldwide since its launch in November 2020 through July 16, 2023. Despite initial supply shortages due to the COVID 19 pandemic, Sony says it now has sufficient inventory. The PS4 reached this mark a few weeks earlier. More than 2,500 games have been released for the PS5. The store currently lists 90 VR games for the console's PSVR 2 headset (600,000 units sold by May 2023).
