
Job Simulator maker launches new VR studio with multiplayer focus
Devin Reimer, co-founder and former CEO of Owlchemy Labs, has unveiled his new studio AstroBeam, which will focus on multiplayer VR experiences. With $3 million in seed funding from Venture Reality Fund and Oculus founder Nate Mitchell, among others, AstroBeam aims to create "more comfortable, more accessible, and more human ways to hangout and have fun with friends in VR.". The goal is to create new interactive social experiences that focus on hand tracking and voice communication with people and NPCs. VRChat will soon be released for Pico 4
At the launch of the Pico 4 mobile VR headset, some users criticized the lack of VRChat. This is about to change, as VRChat recently appeared in the Pico App Store with a "coming soon" notice. There is no concrete release date yet, but we will keep you updated. VRChat is the most successful social VR app on the market and is available for Meta Quest and PC VR via Steam.
