Beat Saber nears 10 million players on Meta Quest

Beat Saber is approaching its next major milestone: nearly ten million people have played the VR game on Meta Quest alone.
In the Meta Horizon app, you can see how many people have unlocked certain achievements.
A Beat Saber achievement called "Pure" is unlocked when a player completes their first level without any modifiers, which is usually at the very beginning of the game.
According to the Meta Horizon app, 9.9 million people have unlocked this achievement so far, and the 10 million mark should be reached soon.

In addition to Meta Quest, the VR rhythm game is also available for PC VR headsets and Playstation VR 1 and 2, bringing the total number of people who have played Beat Saber to well over 10 million.
Beat Saber celebrated its seventh birthday on May 1, 2025, and the title's popularity continues unabated: On Playstation VR 2, Beat Saber was the top-selling game of 2024, and on the leading VR platform Meta Quest, it tops the list of all-time bestsellers.
More recent sales figures are not available, but according to a Wall Street Journal report, Beat Saber generated more than $250 million in revenue through October 2022.
Beat Saber: a VR game that made history
Beat Saber was first released in early access on Steam in 2018. It was later followed by a version for Playstation VR and Meta Quest, to whose success Beat Saber contributed significantly.
Beat Saber quickly became a cultural phenomenon upon its release. With its easy-to-learn yet challenging gameplay, it proved that VR games could appeal to a wide audience. One could even argue that Beat Saber spawned the genre of VR fitness games and inspired countless other VR rhythm games that followed.
The studio that created Beat Saber, Beat Games, was acquired by Meta in 2019. In 2024, the original studio founders left Meta to pursue other projects.
Since its launch seven years ago, Beat Saber has seen the release of numerous music packs including Green Day, Linkin Park, Lady Gaga, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Daft Punk, Britney Spears and most recently, Metallica.
