Arizona Sunshine's next game has no VR support at all, and it slipped to January 21, 2027
The next mainline Arizona Sunshine game is not a VR game, and it has moved out of 2026. Vertigo Games says it launches on January 21, 2027 on PC and consoles with "a brand-new 3rd-person perspective built from the ground up", and the Steam page it points at, appid 4308420, carries no VR category at all.

Vertigo's first word on the game was both vaguer and sooner. Its June 6 announcement said Arizona Sunshine was "coming to PC for everyone later this year", which at the time meant 2026.
Pre-orders are open at $19.99 and €19.99, against $24.99 and €24.99 at full price, which Vertigo gives as a 20% pre-order discount. Valve's own store data returns the same two US figures, and a Deluxe Edition is $23.99 and €23.99 on pre-order against $29.99 and €29.99 afterwards.
The Steam listing names co-op, not VR
Appid 4308420 is tagged Single-player, Co-op and Shared/Split Screen Co-op, and none of VR Only, VR Supported or Tracked Controller Support. Its only genre is Action, Windows is the one PC platform, and the minimum requirements run to a single line, "OS: Windows 10/11".
Vertigo names no console either, and the post says only "PC and consoles". What the listing does carry is DualSense Controller Support, full controller support and Cross-Platform Multiplayer, alongside the split-screen tags.
The three VR games sit on their own listings, with VR in each store name: Arizona Sunshine VR Legacy, the 2016 original at $14.99, Arizona Sunshine VR Remake from October 2024 at $19.99, and Arizona Sunshine VR 2 from December 2023 at $29.99. All three are tagged VR Only, and Vertigo used the VR 2 name in its June post too, so the VR in those titles is older than the launch date.
That leaves four Arizona Sunshine games on Steam, from $14.99 for the 2016 release to $29.99 for VR 2, with the flatscreen entry at $24.99 at full price. The unqualified name now belongs to the one without a headset.
The VR games are all still on sale. We covered the remake's arrival on PS VR2, Meta Quest and SteamVR in 2024, and Vertigo announced the end of the 2016 original's multiplayer support in March 2025.

Vertigo built the flat game on VR 2's story
The story comes from VR 2. Vertigo's June post says the new game is "built on the foundation of the series' signature brutal gameplay and the frantic but surprisingly touching story of Arizona Sunshine VR 2", with narrative-driven solo play and co-op for two players online or on one screen.
Buddy, the dog from VR 2, carries much of the pitch. Vertigo says a second player can take "control of Buddy yourself in multiplayer", and every pre-order includes a Desert Raiders Skin Pack holding one Sunny skin and one Buddy skin. The June post called him "fully playable in co-op" and credited him with sniffing out secrets.
The Deluxe Edition adds the Legacy campaign with the Dead Man and The Damned DLCs, a Neon Wastelander Pack, Fred's Fashion Pack and 48-hour early access, which Vertigo marks as pre-order only.
The announcement does not mention Quest or PS VR2 for the new game, and does not say whether a VR mode follows later. For now the only dated Arizona Sunshine is January 21, 2027, on a store page with no headset anywhere on it.
