Hogwarts Legacy gets DLSS 5 on November 5, with War Thunder and Where Winds Meet next

Hogwarts Legacy will receive NVIDIA’s DLSS 5 neural rendering on November 5, giving supported PC players a new switch for changing how lighting and materials look. War Thunder and Where Winds Meet are also set to add it later this month.

The Hogwarts update supports GeForce RTX 50 Series desktop and laptop GPUs, RTX Spark PCs and GeForce NOW Ultimate, NVIDIA says. Players on GeForce or RTX Spark will need the new Game Ready Driver announced for November 4.

DLSS 5 is a visual rendering feature, rather than simply a higher-frame-rate switch. NVIDIA says it uses a neural model guided by the game’s rendered frame to alter the lighting and material detail developers choose to enhance.

Once the game update is installed, NVIDIA says the feature is available through the “Neural Rendering” option in the game’s settings. Its examples show changes in shading and material detail, including stonework and foliage. Those images are NVIDIA’s comparisons, not independent tests.

Developer Avalanche Software says it worked with NVIDIA to tune environments, tone and skin parameters while preserving its artistic direction. Players who prefer the original look can leave the option switched off, NVIDIA says.

DLSS 5 is separate from existing DLSS Super Resolution, Multi Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction options. NVIDIA recommends a combination of those features for supported hardware, but generated frames are not the same as the game rendering every frame natively, and the result depends on the PC and settings.

War Thunder and Where Winds Meet follow later in November

War Thunder is slated to receive DLSS 5 in its Eagle’s Shadow update in mid-November. Its developer Gaijin says the update will add the neural rendering feature on GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards and RTX Spark devices.

Where Winds Meet is scheduled for November 23 according to NVIDIA. Dates can shift, and players should check the game’s update notes and regional availability before expecting the option to appear.

NVIDIA says all three games use the October neural rendering model. It claims that model reduces 4K VRAM use by 20% and runs twice as fast as its preceding version; those are the company’s figures, not a promise of doubled game frame rates.
