150 new third-party Quest VR games in development, a 50% increase
150 new titles are in active development, funded by Oculus Publishing, the new name of Meta's support program for Quest developers.
Since the first Quest VR headset launched in 2019, Meta has funded 300 titles, in addition to the development of Oculus Studios. This includes top-rated games like Bonelab, Among Us VR, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, and Blade & Sorcery: Nomad.
Meta shared a highlight reel on its YouTube channel to celebrate this ongoing journey, featuring some of the best games for the Quest 2.
The Oculus Content Team has been working on expanding virtual reality titles for an entire decade, and the Meta Quest Store currently contains over 500 titles.
Still, it hasn't been easy, and recently Meta had to cut back on several projects after years of extravagant spending.
Meta has invested more than $1.5 billion in games and apps. VR isn't only about spending, of course, and 40 of those titles have grossed over $10 million, and a significant number have crossed the $20 million mark.
According to Meta, the number of games earning $20 million or more has doubled year over year.
