The new PC VR game Archery Red challenges your marksmanship in Superhot VR style
Simplicity Games' VR archery game Archery RED is now available on Steam for PC VR. As a master archer, you face various challenges in a game environment reminiscent of Superhot VR. The VR game offers two modes: In adventure mode, you master predetermined tasks and endless mode generates random levels of increasing difficulty. To progress, you have to become faster and more precise.
What the Bat? gets absurdly cinematic in free "Battywood" update
The VR game What the Bat? has received its first major update, "Battywood," which is now available for free on SteamVR, PSVR 2, and Meta Quest 3, Quest 2 and Quest Pro. The update features 3 new chapters with 18 new levels, including over 100 new physical puzzles inspired by Hollywood movies. Developers Triband describe the update as a "very strange love letter to Hollywood" where players can make Western movies, jump the shark, and solve crimes, among other absurd activities.
Ultraleap is reportedly halving its workforce and tries to sell the hand-tracking division
British tech company Ultraleap plans to halve its workforce and sell its hand tracking division. The company informed staff of the job cuts due to shifting priorities at tech giants such as Meta and Snap, and evolving customer needs and behaviors. Its haptics division will become a new company owned by existing shareholders. The haptics division also plans to raise additional funding. Ultraleap was formed in 2019 when Ultrahaptics acquired Leap Motion and has raised significant funding in recent years from investors including Tencent, Mayfair Equity Partners, and IP Group.
