Six VR games have October dates, but Sony's store still has no date for one

Six VR releases now carry a dated store page or a dated developer announcement for October, running from Into the Radius 2 on PS VR2 on October 8 to Dark Trip on October 29. One of the six is dated twice over: HyperVR Games gives its prison sandbox Bad Inmate an October 15 launch on Quest and PS VR2, while Sony’s own page for it still reads “Release date to be determined”.

The developer’s date is the one with an announcement behind it. HyperVR Games, a studio based in Riga, announced on August 31 that its “comedic, physics-driven prison escape simulator” would reach Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2 on October 15, 2026. Sony’s listing does carry the requirements: a PS5, a PlayStation VR2, PS VR2 Sense controllers with vibration, and a play area of at least 2m by 2m. A SteamVR version is planned with no date.

Two releases share October 8

Into the Radius 2 reaches PS VR2 on October 8, which is the date on Sony’s store listing for CM Immersive’s survival shooter. The PlayStation Blog post announcing the port had said September 24, and the same post promises native 90fps, eye-tracked foveated rendering, headset and controller haptics and adaptive triggers, with two-player co-op arriving later as a free update in Q4 2026. The PC version has been out since April 23.

The other October 8 release is Shil, a puzzle game from OSM Games that comes to Quest for $14.99 in the US, €13.99 in the eurozone and £11.99 in the UK. The studio’s press release of September 24 gives the date and the prices, calls it the team’s first VR game, and describes puzzles “where logic and perspective are skewed”. A Steam version is wishlistable with no date.

October 15 is the busiest day of the month

Besides Bad Inmate, Quest gets Disembodied on October 15 at 10:00 PDT, listed on the Meta Horizon Store as “Platformer • Puzzle • Action” and rated 3+, with no price shown yet. It is the third dated Quest title of the month.

The same day, the spy sim Spymaster leaves Early Access with three new missions, which Mixed News covered separately. Earlier in the month, on October 2, VMX brings BMX riding and scooters to Quest.

The last two dates belong to Quest and Steam

Terry’s Terraforming arrives on Quest on October 22 at 10:00 PDT for $9.99, with its store page listing the genre as “Narrative • Puzzle • World creation” and a 3+ rating. Pre-orders are open at the same price.

Then Dark Trip lands on October 29. The Steam page from developer and publisher iWorlds describes “a gothic horror escape room where you use wicked biomachinery, strange art and your own hallucinations to solve the mystery of an eerie crime”, and it is tagged VR Supported rather than VR only: the store text says “play flat or in VR”, through SteamVR or Meta Horizon Link.

That is six dated releases across Quest, PS VR2 and SteamVR inside four weeks. The one gap left in the calendar is on Sony’s own store, which still has no date for a game its developer has been dating since August.
