“Eat, sleep, VR, repeat”: VR concert takes you inside the mind of Fatboy Slim
The British star DJ performs in virtual reality. What can you expect from Fatboy Slim's first VR concert?
He is one of the pioneers of the British big beat scene of the nineties and became world-famous with his hit 'Rockafeller Skank' – the soundtrack to FIFA 99: Quentin Leo Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim. Now almost sixty, the star DJ is still going strong and is currently on a world tour.
At the end of March, you can experience him in virtual reality for the first time on the Engage event platform.
“Eat, sleep, VR, repeat”: Fatboy Slim in virtual reality
The name of the VR concert is based on Fatboy Slim's 2013 studio album “Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat”. But VR visitors can look forward to a cross-section of his best-known hits.
“This is a fully immersive concert experience where you will be joined with thousands of other concert-goers enjoying Fatboy Slim’s back catalogue and original new mixes,” said David Whelan, chief executive of Engage.
Rather than recreating a real, physical concert, the team set out to create a unique experience that could only be created in virtual reality. During the 45-minute show, visitors can take an audiovisual journey into the mind of Fatboy Slim and dance with their avatars to hits such as 'Praise Me' and 'Right Here, Right Now'.
