VR hit studio working on AAA game based on globally recognized IP

Vertigo Games has a high-profile title in the works that is based on a globally recognized franchise.

Vertigo Games is one of the largest VR studios, having developed Arizona Sunshine, After The Fall, and most recently The 7th Guest. It also published high-quality titles such as A Fisherman's Tale, Maskmaker, and Unplugged.

According to a job listing, Vertigo Games is currently looking for a Lead Level Designer. According to the description, the studio has launched “pre-production on a high-profile, multi-platform AAA VR game based on a globally recognized franchise”.

“The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to drive the creation and implementation of compelling game features and systems, ensuring an immersive VR experience that aligns with the studio’s reputation for award-winning games,” it reads.

The game is based on the Unreal Engine

Required qualifications include experience in level design “through the full development cycle of console/PC action-adventure games,” as well as in-depth knowledge of the Unreal Engine.

In 2020, the Embracer Group acquired the up-and-coming Rotterdam VR studio. A year later, the smaller Amsterdam VR studio Force Field followed, which was subsequently incorporated into Vertigo Games and renamed Vertigo Games Amsterdam.

Vertigo Games is currently working on the highly anticipated Arizona Sunshine 2, which will be released on all major VR platforms on December 7, 2023. The VR game will feature a new story, new characters, and a dog companion.
