This is the harsh (virtual) reality in prison
In this VR game, you'll experience prison life up close and personal as a guard keeping order among the inmates.
Prison Simulation in VR
Prison Simulator VR is developed by Gameboom VR, the studio behind Cooking Simulator VR, one of the top selling Steam VR games of 2022. You'll experience a variety of interactions and build relationships with prisoners, all of whom have different characters - from more reserved personalities to those who constantly question your authority.
Every decision and action you take as a guard affects the dynamics of the relationship. You'll have to follow the orders of the prison administration and consider the small requests of the prisoners in order to create the most balanced "working atmosphere" possible.
For example, if you allow a prisoner to have a private visit in a separate room, he will appreciate it. On the other hand, if you shorten the visitation time or deny a request for more time with visitors, you will become unpopular.
Fighting cigarette smuggling in VR
Your duties include searching cells, admitting new prisoners, finding contraband, and calming troublemakers. In the event of a violent riot, you will use batons, rubber bullets, or your fists to quell the disturbance.
Prison Simulator VR offers two single-player game modes: In the free play mode, you can move freely around the prison and decide what to do. In the campaign mode, everything is wrapped up in a story and you have to complete certain tasks to finish a day. The story is said to offer "surprising twists and exciting scenarios".
Prison Simulator VR is a VR port of the PC game of the same name, which was released in 2021 and received very positive reviews in over 1,500 Steam reviews. The VR spin-off is still scheduled for release on Steam in 2023. Conversions for Quest 2, Pico 4 and Playstation VR 2 are also planned. The price will be between 20 and 30 US dollars.
