The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners now takes full advantage of Quest 3's hardware, according to the studio.

FACTS

The graphics upgrade, which was announced for 2023 and postponed to 2024, is being released today.

"Meta Quest 3 owners can expect enhanced gameplay and improved visuals in the form of higher environmental detail, dynamic shadows with the flashlight as well as an increased number of walkers on screen at any given time," Skydance Interactive writes.

A video and trailer from 2023 show what players can expect.

The studio also reports that the VR game, which was first released in 2020, has generated nearly $100 million in revenue to date. Skydance Interactive, which is currently working on Behemoth, describes the game as follows:

Players will take on the role of "the Tourist" and must fight for survival against herds of walkers and the constant threat of violence, disease, and famine in a world torn apart by warfare between the remaining survivors. As players explore The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners' vast world, they will need to scavenge for weapons and supplies, face gut-wrenching choices and fight their way through humans and walkers to uncover a mystery that will determine the fate of the city and its survivors.

CONTEXT

One of the best VR games of all time

In addition to Meta Quest, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is also available for SteamVR, Pico 4, Playstation VR and Playstation VR 2. It is considered one of the best VR games ever.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution was released at the end of 2022 and continues the story seamlessly. Despite a new storyline, it is not a fully-fledged sequel, as it only features three new areas and a few new weapons.
