InnerspaceVR promised Spymaster 1.0 three new missions, then shipped four

Spymaster left Early Access on October 15 with four brand-new missions, one more than InnerspaceVR said it was building. The studio promised "three brand-new missions" when it dated the 1.0 release in September, and its launch post counts four.

InnerspaceVR says the game is "now officially launched on Meta Quest and SteamVR since October 15, 2026", after five months in Early Access. The full release also brings a complete story mode, extra polish and language support for Italian and Japanese.

The mission count moved from three to four

Both figures are the studio's own, in the same words. Its September 21 post said players would "get to experience three brand-new missions", including the story's climax with a final mission that lets you play as all three agents at once.

InnerspaceVR now describes four, "including a climactic final mission bringing Spymaster's three operatives together", and gives no reason for the change or a name for the extra mission. Italian and Japanese were in the September plan as well, and both shipped.

The price went up with the 1.0

Steam now lists Spymaster at $19.99 in the US, against the $11.99 it carried in Early Access, when the store page said the price would be increased for the full release. We reported the three-mission promise and that planned rise in September. The $19.99 is Steam's US price, and neither post gives a figure for Meta Quest.

Anyone who bought during Early Access does not pay the difference. Valve's Early Access FAQ says a buyer keeps access to a game "even if the game later moves from Early Access into fully released".

Early Access opened on May 7, which the Steam listing still records, and InnerspaceVR counts five months in it alongside "great reviews from players". Three patches went up in that time, the last on June 15, and the September post promised the Early Access levels back "now in improved versions with numerous bug fixes".

Three agents and one rewind device

Spymaster is single-player, and the pitch is that you run three agents rather than one, recording, rewinding and synchronising their moves with a device called the C.A.S.S.E.T.T.E. The Steam page sets them against a technology company called Protocore and its chief executive PROTUS, on missions for NODE.

Missions run from defusing bombs to poisoning villains, by the page's own description, and each agent carries different skills and weapons. InnerspaceVR made A Fisherman's Tale and Maskmaker, and announced the puzzle adventure One True Path in 2024.

Steam's hardware list for the game names Quest, Quest 2 and Quest 3, Rift, Rift S, Pico 4 and Valve Index, with Steam Frame marked as streaming. The store now lists seven languages after the Italian and Japanese additions, English the only one with full audio, and the game carries 13 Steam achievements.

Spymaster is listed VR Only on Steam, and the 1.0 is on Meta Quest and SteamVR as of October 15. InnerspaceVR shipped one mission more than it advertised and said nothing about why.
