August is a hot month for VR gaming on Playstation VR 2
There are a number of game highlights coming to Playstation VR 2 this month. We've rounded up the top titles for you.

VR Skater
This skateboarding simulation from Germany is certainly the most unusual title of the group.
Originally developed for PC VR headsets and released in Early Access on Steam in 2021, Deficit Games announced a PSVR 2 version in April.
Since the VR headset doesn't support leg tracking, you'll control the skateboard with the Sense controllers to perform kickflips, treflips, hardflips, and many other tricks. The haptic effects of the adaptive triggers are used to simulate resistance and provide a realistic skateboarding experience. Once you reach a certain level of experience or master specific challenges, you'll be able to customize your skateboard and grip tape.
VR Skater will be released on August 4, 2023.
Green Hell VR
Polish studio Incuvo previously ported the survival game, available on traditional platforms, to Meta Quest and PC VR headsets, and announced a graphically enhanced port for Playstation VR 2 in February.
Promised improvements include reworked lighting, high-resolution textures, and realistic shadows. The PSVR 2 version also features improved surround sound and haptic effects for the headset and Sense controllers.
In Green Hell VR, you take on the role of a young anthropologist lost in the Amazon jungle. Surrounded by countless dangers and equipped only with your watch, backpack and a survival guide, you must defy the odds and make it back to civilization.
On August 2nd, Incuvo released a PSVR 2 trailer, which for some reason was taken down the same day. According to the trailer, Green Hell VR will be released on August 15, 2023.
Firewall Ultra
This tactical shooter for two teams of four is being developed exclusively for Playstation VR 2 and uses its hardware features in innovative ways. For example, you can close your eyes to avoid the blinding effects of a flash grenade – the VR headset's eye tracking makes this possible.
Firewall Ultra will feature both PVP and PVE modes against AI opponents. The studio promises to update the VR game with new content, game modes and features after launch. Read more about Firewall Ultra in our previews summary.
The VR game will be released on August 24, 2023 in a Standard Edition ($39.99) and a Digital Deluxe Edition ($59.99). Those who pre-order Firewall Ultra will get access to a special weapon.
Crossfire Sierra Squad
Crossfire Sierra Squad is a PVE-only military shooter that features a single-player campaign with 13 missions, a team campaign (single-player/two player co-op) with 5o missions, and a Horde mode (four-player co-op).
You'll have 39 weapons at your disposal, including pistols, rifles and explosive weapons to use against 17 types of enemies. Like Firewall Ultra, Crossfire Sierra Squad is being developed exclusively for Playstation VR 2.
The studio promises high-resolution graphics thanks to foveated rendering, thoughtful sound design and sophisticated haptics for realistic weapon handling.
Crossfire Sierra Squad is scheduled for release on August 29, 2023.
Phasmophobia
The surprise PC hit from 2020 lets you investigate paranormal phenomena and track down ghosts with up to three friends and special ghost hunter equipment.
The game is one of the 16 best VR horror games and is definitely not for the faint of heart, especially in virtual reality.
In June 2023, Kinetic Games announced an Early Access console version for Xbox series S and X, Playstation 5 and Playstation VR 2. There aren't many details available yet, but the team promised a release in August 2023.
