FACTS

Sightful just announced the launch of Spacetop for Windows, a software-only solution aimed at creating a private, virtual workspace using augmented reality. Sightful, previously recognized for its AR laptop, the Spacetop G1, is now adapting its technology to work purely as software — no new hardware required.

With Spacetop for Windows, users get a fully immersive, expandable virtual environment that essentially acts as a multi-monitor setup. The idea is to take your workspace anywhere — on a train, in a café, even on a plane — while keeping your content invisible to people around you.

The package launches on April 24, 2025, at a price of $899. It comes bundled with the Xreal Air Ultra 2 AR glasses and includes a twelve-month Spacetop subscription, which renews for $200 per year. If you need prescription inserts for the glasses, those are available for an additional fee.

Spacetop for Windows is designed with today’s AI-powered laptops in mind, especially those that can handle intensive spatial computing workloads. Sightful recommends pairing the software with machines like:

CONTEXT

Going global and building new partnerships

Alongside the Windows launch, Sightful is expanding internationally. After debuting exclusively in the US, Spacetop is now rolling out to Germany, with more countries expected to follow in 2025. For its German launch, Sightful has partnered with Deutsche Telekom to offer Spacetop to its business customers. The company is also teaming up with SHI International for sales and working closely with Intel on strategic product development.

Sightful was founded in 2020 by ex-Magic Leap executives and has raised $61 million in venture funding to date. The company first showed off its product in 2024, pairing an AR laptop powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 chipset with the Xreal Light glasses to deliver its signature virtual multi-monitor experience. Since then, Sightful has shifted gears, focusing its efforts on a software-first approach — ditching the dedicated hardware and betting on the flexibility of their AR workspace platform.
