Meta's Connect agenda says Horizon games will reach players on Facebook and Instagram

Meta has published the session catalogue for Connect 2026, and its Horizon track describes a game published on Horizon reaching people on Facebook and Instagram, not only players in a headset. The wording is Meta's own, in a session description written before the event.

The line sits in the description of "A new way to create on Horizon", presented by Saxs Persson, VP, Horizon. Meta's agenda page says: "When you publish, your game reaches players across Facebook, Instagram and Horizon."

The same entry promises "new creation capabilities" that "work with you to bring your game to life", and says the session covers "what's changing, how the platform works and how to start creating". Checked on September 21, that is as specific as Meta gets in writing.

Discovery gets a session of its own

A companion talk, "From publish to players: Discovery and growth on Horizon", is presented by David Rose, Director, Product Management. Its description covers "how games get discovered on Horizon, how they reach players on Facebook and Instagram and what you can do to grow your audience".

Meta has given the same distribution route two of its three Horizon sessions. Horizon has never had a shortage of worlds, and audience has been the awkward part for years.

The pull towards Meta's larger apps has an obvious backdrop. Headsets are the shrinking side of the XR market, and glasses took nearly 85% of shipments in the second quarter, according to IDC.

An agenda is not an announcement

None of this is a product launch. Meta names no ship date, no price, no brand for the creation tools and no rule about whether existing Quest apps qualify, and session descriptions can be rewritten or pulled before an event.

How a VR game is supposed to behave on a Facebook feed is also unstated. Horizon Worlds runs outside headsets on mobile and the web, so some of the plumbing exists, but the agenda does not say what a player taps to start one.

The two live slots

Two live slots sit above the on-demand material. The keynote with Mark Zuckerberg runs on September 23 at 4:00 p.m. PT and the Developer state of the union on September 24 at 10:00 a.m. PT, with the developer sessions available on demand, and our guide has the start times in your timezone.

A third Horizon session, "Community spotlight: Horizon Creator Program", is presented by Brian Howell, Head of Creator Programs, Agentic Content, and is aimed at current and prospective programme members.

As of September 21, that is the whole of it in public. The agenda has Meta describing a publishing route that reaches beyond the headset, and how it works, when it arrives and what it is called are all unstated.
