Meta Connect keynote starts September 23 at 4pm PT, here's how to watch

Meta Connect 2026 opens with Mark Zuckerberg's keynote on September 23 at 4pm PT, which is 1am on September 24 in Central Europe. Meta's agenda says the keynote will show "how Meta is building a future for everyone", and Meta streams it online.

In UTC, the keynote starts at 23:00 on September 23. In the UK it begins at midnight going into September 24, and on the US East Coast at 7pm.

Meta streams two days from Menlo Park

Connect runs on September 23 and 24 at Meta's campus in Menlo Park, California. Meta describes it as "a two-day livestream event showcasing our latest breakthroughs in AI technologies, AI glasses and VR", and you can register for the stream on the Connect site.

The second day belongs to developers. The Developer State of the Union starts on September 24 at 10am PT, which is 17:00 UTC, 6pm in the UK and 7pm in Central Europe.

When Meta announced the dates in May, it promised "an evening keynote and developer sessions" covering VR, wearables, the metaverse and AI. The same post said attendees would "get the first glimpse of what's coming to the next computing platform".

The agenda points at Ray-Ban Display apps

Meta has not named any new hardware, but its list of on-demand developer sessions shows where it wants apps. One session covers "Building web apps for Meta Ray-Ban Display", and another, on the Wearables Device Access Toolkit, promises to bring "your mobile experience to our AI glasses", including features for the Display glasses.

The VR side is there too. Other sessions cover building Android apps for VR and controller-free interaction, and a guide for developers choosing between Meta's VR and AI glasses covers build paths from Unity and Unreal to WebXR and the Spatial SDK.

Meta Ray-Ban Display was unveiled at last year's Connect, so a developer push a year later fits the pattern. The sessions say nothing about new glasses or headsets, and Meta usually saves that for the keynote itself.

A report points to camera-free glasses and avatar calls

Anything beyond the schedule comes from reporting, not from Meta. The Information reports, citing people familiar with the matter, that Meta plans to release a pair of smart glasses without a camera this autumn, internally codenamed Luna.

The same report says Zuckerberg and CTO Andrew Bosworth plan to show "hologram-like video calls" during the keynote, using an advanced version of Meta's photorealistic Codec Avatars on a device codenamed Project Phoenix.

Meta has not confirmed either claim, and it has not named any new product for Connect.

A camera-free Meta pair would compete with startups such as Even Realities, which raised $150 million at a $1 billion valuation in the summer. The keynote at 23:00 UTC on September 23 should settle both reports, one way or the other.
