Knights of Fiona's final chapter lands on October 20, and the $18.99 Story Pass covers it

Knights of Fiona gets the last chapter of its story on October 20, and anyone who paid $18.99 for the Story Pass gets it at no extra cost. CharacterBank says the Ver. 1.1 update adds Chapter 6, "the final chapter of the main story", and that "players who have already purchased the Story Pass will be able to enjoy Chapter 6 at no additional cost".

The money is in the pass rather than the game. Knights of Fiona is free to download on Steam, and the Story Pass is a separate $18.99 purchase in the US that Valve's listing sells as "full access to all six chapters and every quest", with a note that the sixth "will be added in a future update". The same page says only five of the six were available at launch, and that update now has a date.

Loading times are down by up to 80% since launch

The same post totals up what the studio has fixed since the game arrived on September 3, and those changes are in the game now rather than waiting for October 20. CharacterBank says it has "reduced loading times by up to 80% for a smoother adventure", made the opening and tutorial skippable, shortened fanfares and boss intro cutscenes on quest replays, and raised the level cap from 40 to 45.

It does not say where the 80% was measured or on which hardware. The other repairs it names are quest-blocking bugs and connection problems in certain boss fights, with combat balance work it describes only as continuing.

The studio apologises for needing to make them. It says it has "received a great deal of feedback regarding bugs and quality-of-life concerns" and offers "our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused", thanking the players who filed it.

Two one-day Story Tickets run from October 20 to 25

Alongside the update, CharacterBank will give away "2 1-Day Story Tickets, each granting 24-hour access to our premium content to users who login". The campaign period runs from October 20 to October 25, and the studio says the tickets expire after it.

What the premium content is, the post does not spell out, and it does not say what a ticket opens that the Story Pass does not. The Steam listing carries a VR Only tag and an In-App Purchases tag, so the pass is not the only thing in the game with a price.

CharacterBank built RUINSMAGUS before this one

Knights of Fiona comes from CharacterBank, the studio behind RUINSMAGUS, and its store copy pitches it as "a full-scale VR JRPG" where you "fight dragons solo or with two friends". The listing is tagged VR Only with online co-op and Steam achievements, and the Steam build is Windows only.

The studio has been shipping patches at a steady rate since launch, with v1.0.0.1 on September 7, v1.0.1.0 on September 11, v1.0.2.0 on September 17 and v1.0.3.0 on October 2, plus a known-issues post on September 18 that set out what it planned to fix. RUINSMAGUS itself reached PS VR2 in August 2023, so the studio has been building VR role-playing games for years rather than arriving with this one.

Nothing in the post says the game is finished with updates, only that the main story concludes. Ver. 1.1 is dated October 20, the Story Ticket window closes on October 25, and the pass that covers Chapter 6 is $18.99 in the US.
