“Loud, paranoid”: Jacksepticeye becomes Hitman’s newest target, and you can hunt him in VR

Agent 47 has a new assignment in Hitman World of Assassination: take down a fictional content creator played by Jacksepticeye. The limited-time mission, called The Host, runs until November 25 and can also be played in VR.

Seán McLoughlin, better known as Jacksepticeye, lends his voice and likeness to Finn Colton, a wealthy streamer who broadcasts as Finnvictus. Agent 47 must get close enough to him at a heavily watched compound in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. McLoughlin calls Finn “loud, paranoid, and completely obsessed with content.”

IO Interactive says the mission is available through the game's Free Demo as well as the main game. There is an important catch for headset owners: the free PC demo does not include PC VR support.

Agent 47 gets a podcast invitation to reach his target

Colton is a former children's TV star whose streaming business faces accusations of exploiting employees. A creator who signed with his company has disappeared, and her relative wants answers.

His home doubles as a round-the-clock broadcast set, so cameras are part of the problem for an assassin who prefers to go unnoticed. To get inside, 47 poses as a guest on the Finn and Friends podcast under the name Tobias Rieper.

Players need access to the Hawke's Bay location to start The Host. IO Interactive lists the mission for PC, PC VR, PlayStation VR2 and several other platforms, and says it is playable from October 29 through November 25.

The free demo and VR editions have different requirements

On a regular PC display, newcomers can try the event through the Hitman WOA Free Demo on Steam. Owners with the relevant location can play through the main game.

PC VR is a separate consideration. IO Interactive's PC VR support guidance explicitly says it is unavailable in the Free Demo. The studio says its PC VR overhaul requires the Standard Edition or above, so do not assume downloading the demo gives you the headset version.

PlayStation VR2 has its own VR Access add-on. Check the edition and access you already own before buying anything; PC VR and PS VR2 have different requirements.

A paid pack keeps related contracts available after the event

The free mission is part of a larger Season of The Host update. IO Interactive has also brought back other targets and added challenges, including one that awards a Vampire Magician Suit.

For players who want more than the limited-time event, the optional Host Pack includes permanent access to The Collab, an Arcade contract featuring the target, and The Host Assignment. It also contains themed outfits and equipment. Steam lists the pack at $7.99 in the US and says the base game is required.

The time-limited Elusive Target and the paid pack's permanent contracts are separate offerings. If you are interested in the free mission, check your platform and Hawke's Bay access before the November 25 deadline.
