“40–45% more FPS”: Dreamcore developer targets Steam Deck stutters and cuts game size
Dreamcore: Rabbit Hole has received a PC performance update that its developer says reduces stuttering and brings the game’s installed size down from almost 12GB to about 6GB. The patch also improves controller handling and targets issues that affected Steam Deck players.
Ankoku estimates frame-rate gains of 40% to 45%, but says the improvement depends heavily on the hardware. The studio has not supplied a detailed benchmark configuration in its update notes, so that figure should be treated as a developer estimate rather than a result every player can expect.
The November 5 update focuses on performance and stability. It does not include a new level, and the developer says some stutters can still occur on demanding areas such as Highway, especially on Steam Deck.

The update changes storage and memory requirements
The exploration game’s installation is now around 6GB, according to Ankoku, down from almost 12GB previously. The studio also estimates a 25% to 30% reduction in video-memory use and says the game can run on graphics cards with as little as 2GB of VRAM.

Those numbers describe the developer’s stated improvements; available storage, graphics settings and actual performance can differ between systems. Updating through Steam and checking the size shown locally is the practical way to see the change on a particular installation.
The patch reworks grass and sunflower rendering and reduces blur in the Green Hills area. Players who want a sharper image there can also disable depth of field in the settings, the developer suggests.

Steam Deck players should still expect some rough edges
Ankoku says Steam Deck players can target 40 to 60 frames per second depending on settings, or trade frame rate for sharper visuals at 30 to 40fps. It does not specify a single preset for those ranges. The same notes acknowledge that Highway can still produce minor stutters on the handheld.
Controller handling has also been improved. The developer says it is aiming for Steam Deck Verified status, but an aim is not the same as a badge awarded by Valve. Check the current Steam listing for compatibility information before buying.
Ankoku says it put the next level on hold while addressing performance. The work is intended to support future levels, but the current update is a technical release rather than a content expansion.
