Beat Saber's level editor can now hold 10,000 light events, up from 120

Beat Saber's Level Editor can now hold 10,000 basic light events in a map instead of 120. Beat Games says in its patch notes for v1.45.3, out on October 15, that "the limit for basic (v1/v2) light events went up from 120 to 10,000", and the same update adds a Ghastly environment.

The rest of the editor work is new tooling rather than a raised ceiling. Mirrored Paste, on Ctrl+Shift+V, "pastes at the playhead and mirrors objects across the grid", and a new Bulk Change dialog edits many events at once "by absolute or relative values".

Light Gizmos can be dragged around the environment

Lighting is where most of the release went. Beat Games says Light Gizmos "can now be dragged to move and rotate objects in the environment", that event box cells can be dragged to reorder them, and that two new buttons sort those cells by ID or by axis.

There are shortcuts for filling empty lanes at the playhead, Alt+Shift+Z for Default and Shift+Z for Reset, and a Custom Event Box Setup dialog for building several event boxes for one light group in a single pass. A Copy From option in the colour scheme menu copies any of the game's own schemes, and the keybinds page has gained collapsible categories and a search box.

Two of the fixes are the kind that cost a mapper real work. Beat Games says deleting vNJS events "could lock the camera or crash the editor", and that objects and events "could be pasted past the end of the song". Typing in a text field could also fire editor shortcuts.

The Ghostbusters track is a separate $1.99 purchase

The track the update is named for costs extra. "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker Jr. arrives as a Shock Drop, and Valve's store lists it as its own DLC, appid 5308330, released on October 15 at $1.99 in the US. Beat Games gives no price for it in the notes.

It is the second paid Shock Drop in 16 days. We covered the $1.99 "APT." track in v1.45.2 on October 3, and the singles feed a catalogue that now runs to 280 DLC entries on Beat Saber's Steam listing.

Not every track costs money. Beat Games titled its July 30 release the v1.44.3 update with a free track, "Gone For Good" by Haywyre, so the paid singles sit alongside free ones rather than replacing them. The overhaul that would change the game itself, the Flux update with 35 songs and controller-free play, is still dated spring 2027.

Six environments got their lighting straightened out

The other half of v1.45.3 is repair work in the environments. Beat Games lists fixes across six of them, among them Panic 2.0, Dragons 2.0 and The Prodigy, where lasers "stopped short and went through the scaffolding along the runway" and some floating pillars were the wrong size or in the wrong place.

One fix changes how old maps look. Beat Games says older v2 maps "started with default blue lights even when they had their own lighting", and that maps with a dark intro now start dark. In "APT." on Expert, an arc that "went through a wall at around 2:12" has been corrected, in left-handed mode too.

The notes do not say whether the editor changes reach every platform or only the PC client. Beat Saber costs $19.99 on Steam, and the Ghostbusters single is $1.99 on top of that.
