Meta improves Quest Pro eye tracking
The Meta Quest Pro has received software update number 55. Among other things, it states: "We’ve improved eye tracking on Quest Pro to make it more accurate across a broader field of view and during expressions like winking". Meta also notes that eye tracking calibration can be repeated at any time: "For the most accurate eye tracking, you can always recalibrate by going to Movement Tracking in Settings, then Eye tracking, then Calibrate eye tracking".
Apple Vision Pro supports WebXR for immersive browser experiences
Apple confirms that Safari on Vision Pro supports WebXR, a web standard that enables immersive experiences through the browser. WebXR is already supported on a limited basis by Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, Safari, Quest Browser, Pico Browser, Magic Leap Browser, Chrome for Android, Samsung Internet, Opera Mobile, and Firefox for Android, some of which are in developer preview.
Vision Pro: iPhone 15 with integration for Apple's VR/AR headset?
"Apple will aggressively upgrade hardware specifications to build a more competitive ecosystem for Vision Pro," says supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He expects Apple to equip the iPhone 15 with a more advanced ultra-wideband chip to enable better integration with Vision Pro. Ming says, "the ecosystem is one of the key success factors for Vision Pro". This includes integration with other Apple hardware products, he adds.
