Attack on Titan VR: This is how the manga hit's VR game looks like
The new trailer for Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable shows the first footage from the upcoming VR game for Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro.
Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable was announced last summer as a VR adaptation of one of the most popular manga and anime sagas of all time. Now, developer studio UNIVRS Production is showing off scenes from the VR game for the first time.
Fly through the skies and battle the Titans
During Meta's Gaming Showcase 2023, a total of 25 upcoming VR games were shown. One of them was Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable, which will be released in winter 2023 for Meta Quest 2, Quest Pro and the new officially announced Meta Quest 3. The VR game is said to be a “hunting action game” that is reminiscent of genre hits like Capcom's Monster Hunter World.
You are part of the “Scout Regiment” and hunt down the titans that give the game its name in single-player or two-player co-op. To protect the future of mankind, you'll face numerous battles that become more challenging with each Titan you kill.
Despite being pre-rendered animations, the latest trailer shows for the first time what virtual reality combat against the Titans will look like. From a first-person perspective, you run at top speed across the rooftops of a medieval-looking city, swing through the air with grapple hooks, and attack Titans with a double-blade.
For manga fans: Full Japanese localization planned
Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable will be fully localized in both Japanese and English, and is expected to receive an 18+ rating, at least in the US. The Attack on Titan saga follows a group of young warriors who protect the rest of humanity in small towns and villages surrounded by giant walls.
They are attacked for no apparent reason by giant humanoid creatures with distorted faces. The extent to which Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable will be based on the story and characters of the original, and whether it will even tell its own story within the Titan universe, is still unclear.
