Acer’s 500Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor is $499.99, but you’ll need serious frame rates to make the most of it
A 500Hz OLED monitor for $499.99 is the kind of price that will catch a competitive PC player’s eye. Walmart lists a new Acer Predator X27U F5 at that price, sold and shipped by Newegg Inc. through its marketplace.
The exact model is the 26.5-inch X27U F5bmiippruzx, part number UM.GXXAA.501. It combines a 2560 x 1440 QD-OLED panel with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and a height-adjustable stand. When we checked, Walmart showed an Add to Cart button and free shipping to Des Moines, Iowa, with no required coupon or paid membership shown. Availability and delivery can vary by location.
Newegg separately listed the same model for $499.99 against its own displayed $799.99 comparison price. That comparison belongs to Newegg, not Walmart, and does not prove the monitor usually sells for $799.99. Prices and stock can change.

What 500Hz actually means for your games
A 500Hz refresh rate lets the screen update up to 500 times per second. That is aimed at players who prioritize motion clarity and responsiveness in fast competitive games, but the monitor cannot make your PC produce those frames. Reaching very high frame rates at 1440p depends on the game, CPU, graphics card and settings.
The QD-OLED panel adds deep blacks and strong contrast for games and video beyond esports. Acer also specifies a glossy screen, which is worth considering if you play opposite a bright window. OLED displays need sensible care around static content; check the manufacturer’s guidance and warranty before buying.
Acer lists 500Hz at the native resolution over HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C for the X27U F5 family. The US listing gives two HDMI 2.1 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4 ports and USB-C. Your graphics hardware, cable and display settings still need to support the chosen mode; verify them before ordering rather than assuming every device can output 500Hz.

Who should consider this deal?
The stand adjusts for height, tilt, swivel and pivot, and the monitor includes built-in speakers. At this price, the combination of a 1440p QD-OLED panel and unusually high refresh rate is most appealing if competitive games are a priority.
If you play slower single-player games or your PC cannot reach high frame rates, a cheaper 144Hz or 240Hz OLED may be a better use of the budget. Check the selected 500Hz model carefully: Newegg groups it with other Predator monitors that have different resolutions and refresh rates.
