Acer's 165Hz RTX 5060 laptop is $1,399.99 at Best Buy, with $400 off shown in Hawaii
Acer's Nitro V 16 brings an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU and a 165Hz screen together for $1,399.99 at Best Buy. The retailer showed a $1,799.99 comparable value when checked for Aiea, Hawaii, putting the advertised saving at $400 there. Prices and comparisons can vary by location.
The offer covers the black ANV16-I31-70WA configuration, with an Intel Core 7 240H processor, 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 512GB SSD. Best Buy showed a new unit sold by Best Buy, with shipping and pickup options available when checked.
The Nitro's 16-inch screen and dedicated graphics make it a useful option for someone who wants a portable gaming PC with a larger display. Its starting storage is more modest: a few large games can occupy a good portion of the 512GB drive.
- 16-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS display, up to 165Hz
- Intel Core 7 240H and RTX 5060 Laptop GPU
- 16GB DDR5 and 512GB SSD
- New; sold by Best Buy when checked
The screen runs at up to 165Hz
The 16-inch IPS display has a 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It can refresh at up to 165Hz, so it can show more frames per second than a 60Hz display when a game and its settings allow it. The refresh rate itself does not guarantee a game will run at that speed.
Acer lists the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU with 8GB of dedicated graphics memory and a maximum graphics power of up to 75W, including any supported dynamic boost. Laptop graphics performance depends on the power configuration, cooling, game and settings, so do not assume it will match a desktop RTX 5060.
The laptop supports NVIDIA's DLSS features in compatible games, but availability varies by game. Frame generation can add displayed frames, which should not be confused with a native frame rate or guaranteed responsiveness.
Budget for storage and check the ports
According to Acer's specification page, the machine has 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. The manufacturer lists up to 32GB supported system memory, but buyers planning upgrades should verify the installed module and service guidance first.
The Best Buy listing names Thunderbolt 4 over USB-C, HDMI 2.1, USB-A and Ethernet. Wi-Fi 6 is included for wireless networking. Acer describes the screen as anti-glare and lists a 45% NTSC colour gamut, a consideration for anyone who needs wide colour coverage for creative work.
The $400 saving is against Best Buy's displayed comparable value, not an established historical low. Check the retailer's current price, condition and availability for your address before ordering: other Nitro V 16 configurations have different GPUs, memory and screens.
