Popular VR hide-and-seek game Mannequin goes free on Meta Quest

The multiplayer VR game Mannequin is now available as a free download on Meta Quest, while the PC VR version remains a paid title.
Mannequin is now free to play for anyone who owns a Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S, Quest 2 or Quest Pro. This marks a significant change for the popular VR game, which previously cost $20.
The free version gives players access to the complete classic Mannequin experience and all standard maps. For $10, players can purchase a premium upgrade that unlocks:
- Exclusive character skins
- Customized game modes
- Additional maps
- Changing game modes
- Mod support
While Quest users can now play for free, the PC VR version remains a paid title. However, Fast Travel Games has reduced the Steam version to $10 to make it more accessible.
The free-to-play update introduces a new map called "Towers" that transforms the core gameplay. Players can now teleport between different areas using portals, adding new tactical layers to the hide-and-seek experience.
How Mannequin works
First unveiled at Gamescom 2023, Mannequin pits two to five players against each other as either agents or mannequins. Players taking on the role of mannequins can transform into statues and blend in with NPC characters to ambush and freeze agents. Those playing as agents use scanners and pistols to track down and eliminate the hidden mannequins.
The game's strategic depth comes from energy extractors placed throughout each map. Mannequins can drain these to gain speed boosts and shields, while agents use them as reloading stations for their limited ammunition.
