Steam Next Fest serves as a regular platform where independent developers can showcase their latest games to potential players. During the event, hundreds of free demos become available for both traditional PC and VR games. Developers also share preview videos to give players a deeper look at their upcoming titles.

This year's festival runs from February 24 to March 3, ending at 7 PM CET. Throughout this period, VR enthusiasts can download and play any of the 21 available demos.

What's Available to Play?

This year's selection primarily features indie titles spanning various genres. I've had the opportunity to try Sportvida CyberDash on the Meta Quest 3. The game puts you in the role of a speed skater racing through futuristic tracks, where you'll dodge obstacles and smash blocks in a style reminiscent of Beat Saber. The game's speed depends on your arm movements, making it an excellent workout option for those looking to break a sweat.

Another title we've tested is Pets & Stuff, where players take on the role of a veterinarian opening a new clinic to care for neglected animals. As Tomislav noted in his review, the game effectively leverages VR's strengths while remaining accessible and delivering an undeniably charming experience.
