A VR Mod is already live for the Resident Evil 4 Remake

The newly remastered version of Resident Evil 4 just launched a few days ago, and a VR mod is already available.

Resident Evil 4 has been available for Quest headsets since 2021 and was updated last year, but Capcom recently released a new version for PC users with higher-resolution textures, improved gameplay, new creatures, and more.

The official Quest 2 version was first-person, while the new VR mod provides a third-person perspective. In this mode, the camera follows the action from over the shoulder of special agent Leon Kennedy as he attempts to rescue the US president's daughter from the clutches of a religious cult.

Resident Evil 4 Remake VR: First-Person perspective in progress

The rapid conversion from a flat PC game to PC VR might be explained by mod developer Praydog having completed a VR mod for the original RE4 PC game earlier this month. Flat2VR broke the news on Twitter, noting that a first-person perspective mode is also in progress.

Six degrees of freedom allow you to look anywhere, but you generally follow behind Leon, almost as if you've come along to document the adventure. In truth, the success of the mission depends on you as you operate Leon's fighting, movement, and interaction with your VR controllers.

The Resident Evil 4 Remake is also available for the PS5 console, and Capcom is working on a free VR mode for PSVR 2 owners that have the latest version of RE4.
