VR blockbuster Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate gets a major patch roadmap after rough launch

After a rocky release, Mighty Eyes lays out an ambitious update plan for Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate — including a full combat system rework and sweeping performance fixes.
Mighty Eyes, the indie studio behind Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate, has published a detailed patch roadmap for its latest VR title. The game, which launched April 3 on Meta Quest and PlayStation VR 2, was hampered out of the gate by widespread bugs and performance hiccups.
In a candid statement, Mighty Eyes acknowledged, “Combat isn't quite hitting like it should, and there are too many bugs disrupting an epic VR adventure. It's frustrating for you — and for us too.”
Two more patches on the way before summer
The first hotfix landed on April 11, targeting core problems like player movement glitches, item interaction issues, and missing level assets. The patch also addressed achievement bugs and made some tweaks to audio elements.
According to the newly released patch roadmap, Mighty Eyes plans to roll out the first major overhaul of the combat system in May 2025 with Patch 1. This update will focus on optimizing NPC pathfinding and AI behavior for better stability, improving melee reactions and slashing mechanics, and introducing smarter NPC attack patterns. Patch 1 will also launch an upgraded “Sanctuary Object Management” system, add new options for height and avatar calibration, and deliver the first round of performance optimizations.
Patch 2, scheduled for June or July 2025, will mark the second phase of the combat rework. The studio promises refined throwing mechanics and physics-based stabbing, even smarter AI with better stealth detection, and a revamped NPC response system that allows non-hostile characters to react dynamically to threats, player actions, and combat.
PS5 Pro support and PC VR news on the horizon
Looking ahead to late 2025 and beyond, Mighty Eyes is also planning support for PS5 Pro—including exclusive visual upgrades—along with a 60Hz resolution mode for PSVR 2, Quest 3-specific enhancements, new DLC, and ongoing bug fixes.
PC VR users also have reason to be optimistic: at the end of the roadmap, Mighty Eyes teased that updates on a PC VR version are coming soon.
Visual showcase, technical growing pains
Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate is an expanded remake of the original Wanderer VR game from 2022. Set in 2061 after global devastation from natural disasters and war, you play as Asher Neumann, discovering a time machine and traveling to the past to fix critical moments in history.
The Playstation VR 2 version stands out for its visuals — Wanderer delivers elaborate lighting, dynamic shadows, volumetric effects, and crisp high-res textures, making it one of the most graphically ambitious VR titles to date. While the Quest version has to scale back on some of these effects, it still preserves the core visual experience.
