Maestro's "Doombound Pack" brings epic fantasy scores to VR conducting

The new DLC pack for Maestro brings fantastic soundscapes from Middle-earth and Westeros to the VR music game. With baton in hand, you can conduct Howard Shore's "The Bridge of Khazad-dûm" from "The Lord of the Rings" and Ramin Djawadi's "Game of Thrones Main Theme".

Beyond the fantasy soundtracks, the DLC includes some heavy-hitting classical pieces. The full lineup features:

  • The Game of Thrones Main Theme (Ramin Djawadi)
  • The Bridge of Khazad-dûm from The Lord of the Rings (Howard Shore)
  • Orpheus in the Underworld (Jacques Offenbach)
  • Dance of Death - first 4 minutes (Franz Liszt)
  • Symphony No. 10, 2nd movement (Dmitri Shostakovich)

For Lord of the Rings fans, conducting the epic Moria sequence can be an emotionally powerful experience. The pack also includes a new hellish opera house environment, themed costumes, gloves, and a special conductor's baton to complete the atmospheric experience.

What is Maestro?

If you're new to the base game, Maestro has earned its reputation as one of VR's premier hand-tracking experiences. The game casts you as a conductor leading a full orchestra through renowned musical pieces. It works with natural hand movements on Meta Quest headsets - no controllers needed - and teaches fundamental conducting techniques through an intuitive tutorial. You'll learn everything from setting the basic beat to adding dramatic accents and using gestures to guide your virtual musicians.

The Quest version renders a complete orchestra with convincing musician animations. After you nail a performance, you can even turn to acknowledge the cheering crowd in the packed concert hall.

While classical pieces form the core experience, Maestro also includes modern compositions and jazz numbers. You can find the game on the Horizon Store for Meta Quest 3, Quest 2, and Quest Pro, or grab it for PC VR on Steam.
