3D Creation-Tool Polycam raises $18M and is now available on Vision Pro

3D creation tool Polycam has raised $18 million in a Series A funding round. The funds will be used to hire engineers and researchers to expand Polycam's suite of creation tools and train AI base models for 3D reconstruction. The company's tools, which use computer vision and AI, enable users to create photorealistic 3D assets. Polycam has nearly 100,000 paid subscribers and has become popular for creating 3D scans using the iPhone's LiDAR scanner. The company also announced that its tool is now available on Apple Vision Pro.

Virtual Desktop & iVRy want to bring their PC VR streaming apps to the Vision Pro

Virtual Desktop and iVRy are developing Apple Vision Pro versions of their apps. However, a release is not imminent. Developer Guy Godin expects a complex porting process for Virtual Desktop, which will probably take several months. iVRy plans initial testing in April and expects a release within a few weeks, barring any major obstacles. Both applications allow the use of non-PC VR headsets such as Meta Quest 3 or Pico 4 on the PC or streaming from desktop PCs to virtual screens in the VR headset.
