The Exorcist: Legion VR is about to get an enhanced PSVR 2 and Quest 3 version
The Exorcist: Legion VR will soon get an enhanced version for Playstation VR 2, with a Quest 3 update also in development.
The horror game was first released in 2017 for PC VR headsets, and consisted of five episodes. As a Boston police officer, you investigate a series of supernatural cases and are confronted with ancient demons that you must drive out of rooms and human bodies using exorcist tools.
The Exorcist: Legion VR was released for Playstation VR in 2018 and for the original Oculus Quest in 2019. In 2021, a sequel called The Exorcist: Legion VR SIN with optional co-op mode was announced, which was supposed to be released in 2022, then 2023, but is still in development.
The Exorcist: Legion VR makes a comeback on a new generation of VR headsets
I asked Bryan Shanafelt, the community manager of publisher Fun Train, for an update on The Exorcist: Legion VR and its sequel after seeing several announcements on their Discord server.
Shanafelt is telling me that a port of The Exorcist: Legion VR for Playstation VR 2 is in the works and is "almost finished". The title is in final testing with Sony and as soon as it gets approved, a release date will be announced. The port will receive a number of enhancements such as improved visuals, better haptics and trophies.
An update for Quest 3 is also in development and will include better lighting and textures, as well as a higher frame rate. The Exorcist: Legion VR is currently 32 percent off in the Quest Store.
And what about The Exorcist: Legion VR SIN? The sequel has been delayed once again and does not have a release date. Shanafelt writes that it is a "really ambitious" title with a multiplayer campaign and some replay value that can also be played solo.
"We went back to the drawing board a few times to make sure we're going to have all the features and functions of modern VR headsets and can take advantage of the hardware available to produce the best game possible."
The Exorcist: Legion VR SIN is coming to Meta Quest and Playstation VR 2.
