In Smalland: Survive The Wilds VR, you are a smallfolk trying to survive in a microcosm. The survival game is coming to Meta Quest this spring.

FACTS

Maximum Entertainment and developer studio Merge announce Smalland: Survive the Wilds VR. They describe the VR game as follows:

From the world of Smalland: Survive the Wilds, immerse yourself into a new epic single-player adventure as a Smallfolk in a gigantic world. After centuries living underground, the Smallfolk emerge from their burrows to reclaim the Overland now that the giants have gone. Explore, scavenge, craft and build as you fight to gain a foothold in this hostile new world.

In Smalland: Survive the Wilds VR, you'll have to deal with insects, spiders, and other creatures of the forest. Some animals are friendly, others are hostile, and some species can be tamed to help you.

As in other survival games, the goal is to gather resources, set up encampments and craft armor and weapons. Later, you can build a tree house for shelter. Exploration will take you through sewers, sandy beaches, winding tunnels and caves.

CONTEXT

A VR spin-off of the flatscreen title

The VR game is based on the game of the same name for PC and consoles, which came out of early access in February 2024. Smalland: Survive the Wilds VR is a standalone version of the survival game with a new story.

The game is being developed by Merge Games, a British studio that has developed games such as Bramble: The Mountain King, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and Spirit of the North. It is owned by Maximum Entertainment, a global entertainment company with a portfolio of well over 300 titles.
