Samsung Galaxy Glasses leak shows the smart glasses Meta should worry about

A new leak has revealed the Galaxy Glasses Manager app, giving us an early look at the glasses, their charging case, pairing process, One UI XR branding, and the controls Samsung may offer when the wearable launches.

Samsung and Google already showed their first intelligent eyewear designs earlier this year, built with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. The glasses are expected to run on Android XR and use Gemini for directions, messages, photos, notifications, and live translation.

The leaked screenshots show the glasses inside a black charging case, which appears to be used during the pairing process.

Galaxy-Glasses

The app reportedly asks users to remove the protective film from the nose bridge, slide the power switch forward, and place the glasses inside the case until the light starts blinking.

That sounds similar to how modern earbuds and smart glasses are paired today. Samsung seems to be building the setup around a familiar phone-first experience, especially for people already using Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch, or other Samsung wearables.

Once paired, the Galaxy Glasses Manager app should let users control the wearable, check settings, install software updates, and manage key features directly from the phone.

The screenshots also point to a “Find my glasses” option, which could help locate the glasses if they are misplaced.

Galaxy Glasses could run One UI XR with Gemini

The app leak mentions One UI XR, suggesting Samsung may customize Android XR for its own glasses. That would fit Samsung’s usual approach across Galaxy phones, tablets, watches, earbuds, and TVs.

Android XR

Google has already shown Android XR glasses using Gemini to answer questions, give directions, send messages, summarize notifications, take photos, and translate in real time. Samsung could bring those features into the Galaxy ecosystem with tighter phone and wearable integration.

The app may also allow users to import photos and videos from the glasses to their phone. That points to camera-based smart glasses, closer to Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses than a full mixed-reality headset like Galaxy XR or Apple Vision Pro.

Samsung Galaxy Glasses may appear at Unpacked

Samsung has not confirmed the final launch date, price, battery life, camera specs, or availability. The company has only confirmed that it is working with Google and eyewear brands on Android XR-powered smart glasses.

Reports suggest Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event could happen on July 22 in London, where the company is expected to focus on new foldables. Galaxy Glasses may also appear there, but a full retail launch still looks more likely later in the year.

Meta already has a head start with Ray-Ban Meta glasses, but Samsung is preparing a serious Android alternative. If the app leak is accurate, Galaxy Glasses will have the phone app, charging case, AI controls, and One UI XR layer needed for a real product launch.
