Not much will change for Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses owners. Existing photos and videos, device settings and features familiar from Meta View have been migrated and are also available in the new app.

The integration of Meta AI adds new AI capabilities to the companion app. For example, the AI assistant can add, remove, or modify parts of a captured image on demand. The integrated Llama 4 language model allows for natural communication with the AI as well as personalized responses based on stored memories. Conversations are listed in the "History Tab" and can be resumed at any time.

The app also features a new "Discover Feed" where users can see how others are using the AI. You can adopt popular prompts or customize them for your own use. Your interactions with Meta AI will only be shared if you actively choose to do so.

Meta has also integrated an experimental "full-duplex" voice mode, which is intended to allow for more natural conversations. However, it does not have access to real-time information, which can lead to technical problems or inconsistencies. Meta is working to improve this feature. The voice features, including the full-duplex demo, are initially available only in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Bringing Meta AI and the Ray-Ban Smart Glasses companion app together in a single mobile app underscores Meta's belief that glasses are the ideal platform and form factor for personalized AI assistance.

The Meta AI app is now available for iOS and Android.
