A Counter-Strike clone tops the PSVR 2 charts
Sony's charts show the most popular PSVR 2 games of the month. Once again, a PC VR port has made it to the top.
In February 2023, the graphically stunning kayaking simulation Kayak VR: Mirage took the top spot, followed by the military tactical shooter Pavlov. In March, Pavlov took the top spot in both regions (North America and EU). Both titles were originally developed for PC VR and have been ported to PSVR 2.
February's top downloads only reflect one week, as Playstation VR 2 was released on February 22nd. March's chart rankings are the first to cover an entire month.
Another popular title, at least in North America (#2), is the PSVR 2 exclusive rail shooter Switchback VR, which released in mid-March to middling reviews. The VR game is strangely absent from the EU charts.
Music games are popular with PSVR 2 players
Also new to the charts is the zombie game The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners 2, released on March 21, which took third place in Europe and fourth place in North America, directly followed by the launch title Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge.
Music games like Pistol Whip, Synth Riders, and Drums Rock were also very popular and made it into the top ten. Beat Saber has not yet been released for PSVR 2, but the studio confirmed that they are still working on the game.
Sony's flagship title Horizon Call of the Mountain fell back a bit in March.
According to Sony, the top downloads only list titles that were purchased from the Playstation Store. Game upgrades like Resident Evil Village and Gran Turismo 7 are not listed, nor are games that were purchased in a bundle with hardware (i.e. Horizon Call of the Mountain). Retail purchases of PSVR 2 games are also not included. As a result, the download charts do not provide a complete picture of game demand.
