There are first rumors about the release date of Meta Quest 3

Meta Quest 3 will be released this fall, but when exactly? Speculations about the release date are already circulating.
Meta Quest 3 was officially announced in June, and we should learn more technical details and the launch date on September 27 at Meta Connect 2023. It is likely that pre-orders will start that day and the headset will be released a few weeks later, sometime in October. This is what happened with Meta Quest 2 in 2020.
With a month to go before the conference, speculation about the launch date has begun. Let's start with Twitter user IronbugVR, who spotted a release date of October 10, 2023 for Quest 3 on Amazon.ca.
It is unlikely that this is a placeholder date, as Amazon usually uses December 31 as a placeholder. Suspiciously, Amazon removed the Quest 3 listing shortly after this discovery.

October 10, 2023 sounds like a plausible date. That would put the Quest 3 launch just under two weeks after Meta Connect and on a Tuesday. Oculus Go, Oculus Rift S, Quest 1 and 2, Quest Pro: All these headsets launched on a Tuesday.

Others speculate that Meta Quest could be released on October 19, 2023, as new VR content for Meta Quest has been announced for that day: a major update to The Wizards - Dark Times that introduces a co-op mode, and the VR game The 7th Guest.
This speculation isn't very convincing. For that to happen, more VR games would have to be released on the same day, plus it is a Thursday. According to a report from The Verge, Meta has 41 new apps up its sleeve for Quest 3, and many of these titles are unlikely to be announced before Meta Connect.
