Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 is coming to PSVR 2 in December
New VR horror game Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 is coming to Sony's VR headset later this year.
Emma Tammi's big screen adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy's is off to a great start in theaters. The scary movie starring Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard had a budget of just under $20 million and has now grossed over $270 million.
VR mini-games at Freddy's
In a blog post, Executive Producer Ray McCaffrey describes what to expect in the second VR spin-off of the series. You work as a temp at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria where you have to complete crazy jobs in six different mini-game categories.
Mini-games range from face painting with Roxanne Wolf to target shooting and emergency first aid. There will also be a special category featuring new VR versions of gameplay from Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location.
McCaffrey emphasizes that each playthrough should provide a unique experience. Variable challenges in the mini-games should keep Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 interesting for a long time.
Exclusive PSVR 2 features
On Playstation VR 2, Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 will benefit from special features such as headset vibrations and 3D audio with the Pulse 3D headset. This could make the jump scares in particular much more effective.
There will also be an exclusive mini-game for PSVR 2 that makes use of the VR headset's eye tracking. Fortune-teller Mystic Hippo will read your thoughts based on your eye movements as you participate in her supernatural card game.
Although the first installment, Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted, was released for various VR platforms, the sequel has only been announced for PSVR 2. Whether Steel Wool Studios will also release the game for PC VR, Meta Quest 3 or Pico 4 remains to be seen. So far, only a PC version has been confirmed.
