HTC Vive enables DIY repairs of VR headsets through cooperation with iFixit

HTC Vive and iFixit have announced a new partnership that allows owners of HTC Vive headsets in North America to obtain official replacement parts and repair guides for their devices. According to HTC America General Manager Daniel O'Brien, the company wants to accommodate long-time customers who want to continue using their headsets out of warranty and repair them if necessary. The step-by-step instructions provided by iFixit are designed to allow users without special technical knowledge to perform repairs on their own. Parts offered include specific components for Vive CE and Vive Pro headsets, Vive wireless adapters, Vive trackers, wall mounts, cables, and Vive VR controllers.

New Apple Pencil for Vision Pro rumoured to be in the works

Apple is reportedly testing a new Apple Pencil with support for visionOS. This would make the pencil compatible with Apple Vision Pro. In drawing applications, users would be able to draw on a flat surface and see the result in Vision Pro. It is unclear which software version will add support and whether the new Apple Pencil, which could be released in April, will support visionOS. The first beta of visionOS 1.2 should be available to developers this week, and visionOS 2.0 will be released later this year, according to Apple expert Mark Gurman.
