Meta Quest 3: GOLF+ plans to launch a mixed reality mini golf mode

The popular VR golf game GOLF+ is getting a mixed reality mini-golf mode that uses real-world space. There will be a selection of ready-made courses and the ability to create your own. Custom courses can be shared and rated among players, and a local multiplayer is also planned. The new mixed reality mode will be exclusive to Quest 3 and will be part of the main game. The mode is scheduled for release before Christmas. Developer GolfScope Inc. is currently working on a way to automatically generate courses based on physical rooms, but cannot yet confirm whether this feature can be realized.

New trailers for Wallace & Gromit VR and MR have been released

VR film publisher Astrea has released official trailers for two new Wallace & Gromit experiences. The Grand Getaway, a VR adventure co-produced by animation studio Aardman and Atlas V, marks Wallace & Gromit's first foray into VR and takes fans on a humorous journey to Mars. Astrea also unveiled Jamtastic!, a mixed reality game that will be included with the purchase of The Grand Getaway on the Meta Quest store. Jamtastic! allows players to test Wallace's new 'jam-to-toast delivery system' in a shooting gallery style game set in their own living room.

Snapchat's new AR filter lets you try on NYX makeup

Snapchat and NYX Professional Makeup have launched an AR filter called "Beauty Bestie" that doubles as a shopping tool. It allows users to try out makeup looks and purchase matching products on the NYX website. The filter adapts to the user's preferences and recommends more personalized looks over time. New customizable looks from NYX makeup artists will also appear daily. Also planned for this winter is a feature that will allow users to scan a product with their mobile phone camera to see a matching tutorial video.
