CONTEXT

Acrobatic VR games

Monkey Doo dispenses convenient teleportation controls in favor of physical activity. The VR game thus follows in the tradition of earlier titles like Climbey or Sprint Vector, in which arms and hands are primarily responsible for locomotion in VR. If you like swinging your arms in VR, you can find more examples of this genre in the linked article.

A VR game that comes very close to Monkey Doo is Toss. In this acrobatic adventure developed by Agera Games, you crash-land on a cloud planet and have to find spare parts for your wrecked spaceship. You climb, shimmy and swing your way through 75 levels. Toss is also available in the Quest Store and on Steam, as well as in the PS Store for Playstation VR 2 since September 2023.
