Anker brings official wireless VR earbuds for Meta Quest 2

Anker releases dedicated earbuds for the Meta Quest 2 under the "Made for Meta" seal.

Anker Innovations, founded by former Google employees, made a name for itself with power banks and other smartphone accessories in recent years. Under the Soundcore brand, Anker offers Bluetooth audio boxes as well as wireless earphones. In the future, these will also be available for the Meta Quest 2 standalone VR headset.

Wireless earbuds for virtual reality and gaming

This is not the first time Anker and Meta cooperated. Two years ago, Anker released an official charging station for the Quest 2, and now comes the next officially licensed accessory.

The Soundcore VR P10 Wireless Earbuds are specifically designed for gaming and VR with the Meta Quest 2. A 2.4 GHz connection to the VR headset is established via the included USB-C dongle. This is supposed to achieve low audio latencies of 30 milliseconds.

The dongle has its own USB-C input, which means that the USB interface of the Meta Quest 2 is not blocked. You can therefore charge the Quest 2 and use the earphones at the same time. In addition, the VR P10 offers the possibility to connect to multiple devices at the same time.

If the dongle is connected to the Quest 2, you can also pair the earbuds directly with the smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth 5.2. This would allow you to make a phone call in VR or listen to your favorite song on Spotify, for example, while you comfortably hole up in Walkabout Mini Golf.

Made for meta, but versatile

Although Anker sells the Soundcore VR P10 under the "Made for Meta" license, the earphones also work with other devices. Anker names gaming PCs, the Steam Deck, or the Playstation 5 as compatible devices besides smartphones. Since a press release explicitly mentions Sony's console, compatibility with the Playstation VR 2 is likely.

In total, you can use the VR P10 with up to four wireless dongles on different devices at the same time. You can then switch between the dongles via the Soundcore app for Android and iOS. The battery should last up to six hours in operation.

The Soundcore VR P10 is available now for $99.99 on Amazon.com. Until October 31, Anker is offering a $20 discount there with coupon code GETVRP10.
