VR stealth shooter Mannequin is leaving Early Access with a Quest 3 update
Mannequin will be released as a full version in September. The asymmetrical VR multiplayer game offers graphical improvements for Meta Quest 3 at launch.
Stockholm-based VR developer and publisher Fast Travel Games has announced that the full version of VR multiplayer shooter Mannequin will be released for Meta Quest and SteamVR on September 12, 2024. The title is thus leaving Early Access after several months. The price of 19.99 euros remains the same.
On Meta Quest 3, the full version of Mannequin will feature a number of visual improvements. All versions of the game will also benefit from optimizations in terms of performance and stability as well as various bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements.
Further content is planned for the time after the release. Fast Travel Games will announce details at a later date.
The features of the full version of Mannequin at a glance:
- 2v3 game of hide and seek: disguise yourself as a Mannequin by transforming into humans, or hunt down the alien threat with state-of-the-art technology.
- Four carefully crafted maps: Each of the four maps was customized and perfected during Early Access to provide the most balanced and immersive gameplay experience possible.
- Cross-play between Steam and Quest: Regardless of whether you play on PC or standalone headset, you have access to the entire player community. Custom matches make it easier to play with friends.
- Custom Modes: All custom match customizations added during Early Access will be available at release, including Infected mode.
Asymmetrical VR multiplayer with an ingenious twist
Mannequin is an asymmetrical multiplayer game for up to five players. Two human agents hunt down three alien opponents, the Mannequins. The latter disguise themselves as human statues and try to surprise the agents from ambush and freeze them with a single touch.
The agents, on the other hand, scan their surroundings with the help of high-tech equipment and try to eliminate the camouflaged aliens with EMP weapons. In doing so, they must distinguish between friend and foe.
Three announcements from Fast Travel Games
In addition to Mannquin, Fast Travel Games also announced three other titles at the VR Games Showcase: the VR shooter Action Hero, the Guitar Hero-inspired Band Space and the PSVR 2 conversion of Into The Radius.
